The New York saxophonist, with an international career that has seen him collaborate with legends such as Sharon Jones and Charles Bradley, will perform with his personal project on Sunday, February 1 at the Cripta de l’Ermita.

The guest is Freddy DeBoe accompanied by the Soul Birds. The North American saxophonist combines the intensity of soul with the immediate phrasing of the most authentic rhythm & blues, creating a unique and contemporary sound. With a career that has led him to share the stage or studio with names such as Sharon Jones, Charles Bradley, Lee Fields, Taj Mahal or Eli “Paperboy” Reed, Freddy De Boe is recognized as one of the most outstanding voices of the soulful saxophone of the 21st century.

The Soul Birds, formed by Dani Baraldes, Anton Jarl and Víctor Puertas, will accompany the saxophonist on a unique date in Spain, coinciding with his previous tour with Lee Fields, which just ends the day before the concert in Cambrils.

The Freddy DeBoe & The Soul Birds concert will have a preview with a young band from Cambrils that will open the afternoon with a short performance, the Band Ventats, a wind group made up of Eder, Jan, Jon, Luca and Oleguer from Cambrils. With ages ranging from fourteen to sixteen, these young musicians trained at the Municipal School of Music of Cambrils are great enthusiasts of the art of sound and offer a vibrant repertoire that energetically fuses rock and jazz.
